This past month can be summed up in one word: Teething! You have been in major teething mode all month, and into your tenth month as well. To put it nicely, you do not handle teething well. You pretty much become an all day fussy britches. But, despite the hard month, you still have your sweet, sweet moments and are getting more and more of a personality each day.
Here are the highlights:
-No idea on your weight and height...no MD visits this month...hooray! You are likely somewhere around 21 lbs and 30 inches tall.
-Still wear a size 5 shoe.
-You now have 6 TEETH! Thats right, you broke your 4 top teeth this month...all at the same time!
-You still eat a bottle 5 times a day.
-You are still getting prune juice mixed with water before your nighttime bottle every night to keep your bowels moving. So far, that is what has worked for us. No constipation this month..hooray!
-Since we started the daily prune juice, you have been able to tolerate solids much better. You are still eating baby food, at lunch and dinner. I have been trying to add in breakfast, but you refuse to eat it. It just seems like you aren't hungry...you shut your mouth, turn your head, and refuse to eat. I keep trying, but so far no luck.
-We have been trying to introduce finger foods so we can move away from baby food, but you are NOT having it. You refuse to eat pretty much anything that is not in pureed form. You wont even let me put it in your mouth, and if I do manage to get it in your mouth, you promptly vomit it up. Stinker. I have had some luck getting you to eat a banana, but I cant give you much because they cause constipation.
-You do love puffs, and you do a great job of picking them up and putting them in your mouth.
-You are getting better and better at drinking from a sippy cup. You get water from one with your meals, but mostly you just want to chew on the cup. We keep trying.
-You are still a great night sleeper: 730 pm -730 am and you never wake up at night.
-You are still taking 2 naps a day. Although, with all the teething this month, we were lucky to get in one good nap a day. But things on the teething front seem to be settling down and you are back into the 2 nap a day routine.
-You LOVE your bath! You get SO excited when its bath time!
-Your favorite toys right now are your play table, blocks, and any type of ball. Seriously, you LOVE balls! You throw them to the ground and chase them...all over the house. It keeps you occupied a good part of the day.
-You also love to stand up and look out the windows. You rotate through all of the windows in the kitchen. You just stand, look outside, and talk to yourself..so cute!
-It takes almost no effort at all for you to pull up now...you can do it while holding an object in each hand.
-You are starting to cruise around the furniture more and more.
-You never army crawl any more. Its all 4's crawling all the time. And you are FAST!
-You still take daily Prevacid for your reflux. I cant remember the last time you spit up though.
-We dont use burp cloths anymore. This is a huge accomplishment. At one point in your life we were going through 75 a day...no joke! This month when I did your laundry for the week I noticed there was not one burp cloth in it...hooray!
- I started a new job this month, still working twice a week, so you have been staying with Mrs Catherine and Owen while I work. You do ok there, but you are a little more clingy due to the different environment.
-You still do great in the church nursery and your Sunday School class
-We enrolled you in our church's preschool starting in the Fall. It's a little crazy that you will be old enough for twice a week preschool in the fall...your growing up so fast!
-You say Mama great, and are getting close to saying Papa. You have also been trying to say ball, but right now it just sounds like "Ba".
-You give the sweetest open mouth kisses. And you give them on command, and sometimes just because you want to :)
-You are understanding things better and better every day. You follow simple commands, and understand the word "No" much better now...and most of the time you obey it!
-You love to roll your ball back and forth with me. Still need some practice on your aim though.
-You love for me to read you books! Your favorites are your touch and feel books and "Moo, Baa, La La La"
We cant wait to see what next month brings! I cant believe in 2 months you will be 1! We love you so much, sweet boy!
